2024 SPECIAL
On Saturday morning October 7, 2023 I was hosting a men’s prayer breakfast at our Church. Over 5600 miles away it was already 1:00 PM in Israel. Hamas terrorists had broken through the border of Gaza around 6:00 AM that morning massacring Jewish men, women, teenagers, little boys and girls even infants. They murdered at least 1300, wounded hundreds more, and dragged others off as hostages. |
Later
that afternoon we started hearing reports on the news.
Since
that day we have learned how the terrorists cheered and celebrated
while filming their carnage. When I saw the images on the news and
the faces of the terrorists the first thing that came to mind was
demonic. The epitome of evil hatred and death was in their eyes. I
became sick to my stomach almost overcome by rage. When I came to my
senses after that brief moment I remembered that is exactly the way
terrorists want us to feel. More importantly it is all part of
Satan’s plan to make us lose our self-control by anger or to be
filled with fear. All the Jewish people and the land of Israel needs
our prayers and support. That includes the innocent people of Gaza
also being destroyed by Hamas terrorists.
The whole world is once again focused on that tiny sliver of land called Israel. As the weeks pass by the popular phrase “the world is on fire” seams to be repeated in the media. Regardless of whatever your religious or political views might be the acts by Hamas terrorists can only be described as absolute evil! In the aftermath we see how armies are gathering throughout the Middle East, Europe and other places around the world. It feels like we could be on the brink of world War III. That would mean the end. Only God can keep that from happening because man cannot be trusted. If you are a citizen of the United States of America you need to wake up and take heed to the warning signs. Let’s not beat around the bush when it comes to the threat of terrorists already infiltrated throughout our country. When the time is right they mean to do us harm. These are things we don’t want to hear, but we know it’s true. So what should we do? It becomes wearisome because it seems like all we ever hear is a lot of talk with no action. First we need to ask where does all this hate come from? Especially the hate toward Jewish people and Christians. Both Christians and Jews are hated by Muslim extremists who we know are included in several terrorist organizations. This should be common knowledge for any person old enough to have experienced first hand September 11, 2001 when our country was attacked by the same types of terrorists. Obviously something has happened over the past 23 years where history has been blurred and the lack of Biblical education is also evident. An example of this can be seen when watching college students here in the United States of America publicly march, riot or protest in support of Palestinian Hamas terrorists while chanting for the death and annihilation of Jews. If these people represent the future leaders of our country we are heading straight to hell! To keep ignoring this arrogance and blatant evil thrust upon society will only lead to total devastation. We should be crying out to God for “real” teachers of “real” history in our educational institutions and “real” Bible driven Clergy to preach the truth by the authority of Scripture. Not by the authority of how a person feels. Just a few thoughts when approaching a more accurate account of history might serve well in turning things around from where we are heading. Anti-Semitism (Jew Hatred) could probably be traced back to the their slavery in Egypt nearly 3500 years ago. The hatred of Christians began nearly 2000 years ago (30 A.D.). This is recorded in the Bible if you believe the Bible is accurate and true. Otherwise, it is hard to have a productive conversation on the subject. Christians believe the 39 books of the Old Testament, 27 books of the New Testament, all 66 books make up the whole of Scripture, the infallible Word of God. To depart from this truth by doubting or rejecting the Bible only darkness and deception will prevail. Islam (Muslims) did not exist until 620 A.D. Even the Muslim’s Quran calls Jews and Christians the people of the scriptures. (Sura 4:171, Sura 5:15) We need to understand that from childhood Muslims recite verses from the Quran until it is instilled in their minds that Christians are the enemies of their faith. Muslims view Israel and the United States as representatives of Christians and Jews. We are the infidels, enemies of Islam and to them the evil of the world. If you read the Quran this is made clear. They view Israel as the little Satan and America the big Satan. However, not all Muslims are religious exremists just like not all Christians are militent crusaders, and not all Jews are religious zealets. Most people just want to live in peace in their communities raising their children, working to provide for their families without wars and hate. I know several missionaries who have lived in israel especially in Jerusalem where all three faiths Judaism, Islam and Christianity can live together peacefully. Not that they believe or worship the same, but choose to respect each other. It is relatively calm until extremists decide to disrupt their neighborhoods. Similar things are happening in various communities across America and it seems to be getting worse. Christians need to stand against Anti-Semitism wherever it shows it’s ugly head. Over the years there have been several college students who have contacted me for interviews as part of their assignments depending on their course of studies. It usually had to do with social studies or human relations. After awhile I developed a prepared list of answers because they all asked the same basic questions. One section of those questions involved comparative religions and Biblical apologetics. Several students have asked, “How would you describe Judeo-Christian faith and values”? I would begin to answer by pointing out the connection between the Old and New Testaments. In short the roots of Christianity begins with the Old Testament where Jesus described as “Moses and the Prophets.” (Luke 16:31) It is where we learn about the laws of God including the ten commandments which most people are familiar with. (Exodus 20:1-17) In the New Testament Jesus came to fulfill the law (Moses) and the prophets. (Matthew 5:17) Thus the word “Judeo” represents the Jewish root belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (also called Israel). Genesis 32:28 So our faith and values according to Scripture and Biblical history are related until we separate when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) arrives in the New Testament. This is the major difference between Judaism and Christianity. There is no reason for a call to hate each other whether Christian or Jew. Throughout the centuries it is the Jews who have preserved and brought us the Scriptures. We must never forget that Jesus Christ is a Jew! So the connection between Judaism and Christianity is revealed in both the Old and New Testaments and any serious student of the Bible understands the meaning of “Judeo-Christians.” Satan knows this and that’s why he is the enemy of both Christians and Jews. He would love to see us hate and destroy each other. He knows there is enough hate in the world toward Christians and Jews as part of his handy work and to bring hate between the two would to him be a final nail in the coffin and a way to grieve God’s heart. While these historical facts involve the religious aspects of hate concerning Judaism, Christianity and Islam, there are the political and geographical struggles that also generates hatred. Those of us who have been living on earth even for the past 60+ years are familiar with a character named, “Yasser Arafat” - a terrorist and founder of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) - leader of Fatah. No matter how hard the secular media, activist leaders, rioters and protesters try to erase history as we are witnessing today, they cannot escape the truth. There has never been a Palestinian nation, country or state. It is a political party (organization) established with its main objective to annihilate the Jews and make Israel a Palestinian State. This is old news and the reason why it seems so foolish to watch so many people falling into the trap of deception. Don’t take my word for it, they should take the time to actually research the documented history of the facts before they start marching. It’s hard to understand why the United States government is allowing the hate, rioting and sometimes violent protests to continue. It goes beyond freedom of speech and peaceful protest. I can’t imagine those who serve us in the White House and Congress have never received an education in history on their way to the positions they now hold. They should know better. The answer to this dilemma of inaction must be politics, money and power. So it really does matter who we vote for and send to Washington D.C. to represent us. I’m not a politician, priest or prophet. I’m just an old country pastor and evangelist. We can’t be sure what tomorrow will bring in this crooked and unstable world. However, we can know the true peace of God that transcends all human understanding found only by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. No matter how treacherous life may seem or how uncertain you may feel, God loves you and has given you the answers and the assurance for the future. Through the flames of Satan like a fire breathing dragon you can overcome his attacks. Your weapons for this spiritual warfare are your shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. (Matthew 6:34, Ephesians 6:10-17, Philippians 4:7, 1 John 5:11-12, Revelation 21:1-6) I can remember when Humbleheart Ministries received a notice from the United States Government Homeland Security following September 11, 2001 warning us to beware of teaching hate that could lead to “hate crimes.” If you will recall that was the creation of what is now called DHS Department of Homeland Security. The first secretary of DHS was former Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Ridge. It was geared toward apologetics ministries and those teaching comparative religions. In other words you could be in violation and charged with hate crimes if you write or speak about other religions or cults in a negative way. My question to them was who decides what would be negative and considered as hate? I never did receive an answer from the agent at DHS when I called. Canada stopped all applications for apologetics ministries that were seeking tax exemption. We were told the United States would be doing the same within five years. Fortunately, Humbleheart Ministries was approved as a “charitable religious teaching organization” under 501c(3) February 1995. So, I filed that DHS Notice in the trash where it belonged. It is still among the tools of DHS for intimidation to be used at a time of their choosing. What is Christian Apologetics? This is a frequently asked question especially by the younger generations who were never brought up in the Church or have never participated in Biblical studies. The word “apologetics” is derived form a Greek word that simply means “to make a defense.” (1 Peter 3:15) Contending for and defending the Christian faith is called Christian Apologetics. The whole purpose of apologetics is to have a ready defense to stand against the false teaching from outside or within the Christian Church. It is wise for us to know the differences between faiths especially since we are blessed to live in a country with the freedom of religion. As fellow citizens we can respect one another and be at peace in our communities. The Apostle Paul wrote: “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” (Romans 12:18) Comparing and describing the differences between religions is not teaching hate. It is called teaching the truth. For example, generally speaking if someone asked you what day of the week do you attend worship service? The Muslim would say Friday, the Jew Saturday, the Christian Sunday. This might encourage a follow up question like why are there three different days? This might lead to further details etc… On the other hand there could be a teacher claiming to be a Christian telling you “what man is God once was, and what God is man can become, yes you can become a god! Jesus was married to three women, and he is also the spirit brother of Lucifer.” By the authority of Scripture you need to stand against such non-Biblical false teaching from a non-Christian cult called The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints (LDS) Mormons. In pointing out the truth you will be hated by the world. They want to silence you. Jesus told us this would happen. "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:18-19) You should love not hate the Mormons or any other people you believe are misled. Pray for them to turn to the real Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. (John 14:1-6) In John 8:44 Jesus tells us why people will not receive Him. "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.” Paul tells us that Satan is the god of this world who blinds the minds of those who are perishing. We should keep these things in mind as we witness the hate and the lies of this fallen world. This Satan, the dragon and serpent of old is the formidable enemy of the Christians and Jews.
